Key Stage One

Key Stage One (KS1) covers the education of children aged 5-7 years, typically in Year 1 and Year 2 of primary school. During this stage, children build on the foundation set in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and develop key skills in literacy, numeracy, social interaction, and physical development.

 

Developmental Characteristics:

1. Cognitive Development:
